Pitharka - No.4

PITHARKA was the place where the family kept its wine and olive oil in the huge clay pots called ‘pitharka’. It was also the place where the family "smoked" its homemade sausages.

There is a distinctive feature of an “avlakotiras”in the room. It is a stone carved path for the water to come out of the room. As the houses are built joined to each other and some also have common walls this was the way to let the water out that was coming from the yard of the house behind. Today it is a very private and cosy room shaded behind the ancient lemon tree.

It consists of two single beds making it ideal for friends.
